Types of shots which i am going to use.

Shots.

Close up: Shows face.

Extreme close up: Usually one part of face e.g. eyes.

Establishing shot: Location.

Mid shot: Waist up.

High angle: Camera pointing down.

Low angle: Camera pointing up.

Cantered angle: Camera is tilted.

Over the shoulder: Shot of back of person looking at something.

Long shot: Full body and back ground.

POV: What person is looking at.

Why am i going to use these shots?

Close up and extreme close up:
I am going to use those shots as they help to show the emotion in a persons face. They also help us to know the character more. The extreme close up will be used on 'Mark' as i don't want the audience to see his whole face. This way we can still identify him through his eyes.

Establishing shot:
Give a sense of location. Normal looking house. Helps audience understand what kind of location the film is set in.

Mid shot:
Can still see emotion on persons face but you can also see body language.

High angle:
Show's power. This will be used when Mark is on camera. So show how much more powerful he is than Saffron.

Low angle:
Shows vulnerability. Will be used for shots of Saffron. Make her seem small.

Cantered angle:
Usually gives us a sense of danger.

Over the shoulder:
Can see person at who/what they are looking at. Used when Saffron and Mark are looking at there computers.

Long shot:
Can see person and the back ground. Used when Saffron is at the park with Lucy.

Point Of View:
Shows what a person is looking at so used when Saffron is looking at her computer and when 'Mark' is watching her from amongst the tree's.

Scripting.

Bit one: From first establishing shot to when she goes to bed.
Sitting in bedroom on computer - playing music on her ipod through earphones.
Saffron: (Sings along to song quietly.)

Bit two: From when she wakes up to when she goes out. (time lapse)
Mark: "Hey, how are you?" (enthusiastic)
Saffron: "Hello. Im alright thanks, you?" (wary but happy)
Mark: "Better now i'm talking to you."

-Flash back-

Girl: "How are you today?
Mark: "Better now i'm talking to you."

Girl: "Mark, you were supposed to be my friend.
Mark: "I know, Im sorry."

-Normal time-

Saffron: "Aw"

-Time change-
Saffron: "I'm so glad i met you. I feel like i can trust you with anything
Mark: "You can"

-Flash Back-
Girl: "Of course, i trust you. You know that"
Mark: "I know"

Girl: "I trusted you Mark. Why?"

-Normal time-

-Time change-
Saffron: "Sorry, mum said i have to take Lucy out"
Mark: "Oh, okay. I'll talk to you later"
Saffron: "Bye"

Bit three: From going out to kidnapping.
Saffron: "Alright Lucy, just be careful"
'Mark': "Hello Lucy" (Takes her hand and walks her away)
Saffron: "Lucy?" (Panicked)
Lucy: "Saffy."
Saffron: "Lucy" (relieved)
Saffron: (screams)

Bit four: End.
Saffron: "I trusted you"
Mark: "I know"

180 degree rule.

The  180 degree rule is a line of action which all genre's of films follow.
This rule makes a person appear on the right side of the screen in every shot and another person (usually the one with the most power) appear on the left.
You are not allowed to cross this line of action unless you can see the crossing of the line appear on camera.

Video explaining further how the 180 degree rule works.

Initial Ideas.

I paired up with MDB productions to come up with three initial ideas. Which could be used for a thriller film.
